E-vignette (vinieta) for travelers in Moldova

Every foreign-registered vehicle needs a valid road-use vignette (vinieta) to drive in Moldova. It applies to the whole public road network — not just the main corridors — from the moment you cross the border. The vignette is fully digital and linked to your license plate, so there is no sticker to display in the windscreen.

Because the charge covers the entire national network, a single vignette is enough for a transit drive as well as for a longer stay. Streets inside towns and cities are included.

The vignette covers vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes total weight, including cars, camper vans and minibuses. A trailer or caravan towed behind such a vehicle is covered by the towing vehicle's vignette on most routes, but we register it with the order so the combination is documented.

Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes — lorries, coaches and heavy goods vehicles — are outside the vignette scheme and pay separate road charges based on weight, axles and the distance driven.

You can choose between the following validity periods:

• 7 days
• 15 days
• 30 days

Each period starts on the date you select and runs to midnight of the final day. Prices in this checkout are shown in your own currency, converted at the current rate, and include our service fee.

For vehicles above 3.5 tonnes the charge is calculated from the number of axles, the permitted weight and the route driven, and it is settled at the border or through a declared route rather than with a vignette. If you drive a mixed fleet, order the vignettes for your light vehicles here and keep the heavy vehicles on the weight-based charge.

Vignettes are sold at the border crossings, at petrol stations and at post offices inside Moldova. Ordering online before you leave registers your plate in advance, saves you the queue at the border and gives you an e-mail receipt and invoice within minutes of paying.

Type the plate exactly as it appears on the vehicle, using Latin characters only, without spaces, dashes or country codes. Cyrillic letters that share a Latin shape (А, В, Е, К, М, Н, О, Р, С, Т, У, Х) should be typed as their Latin twin.

Diacritics from other countries (ä, ö, ü, å, ø, ă, ș, ț) are entered without the accent, so ĂBC 123 becomes ABC123. Our system checks the plate before the order is submitted, so a mistyped plate is caught early.

Compliance is checked at the border and by patrols inside the country. Driving without a valid vignette leads to a fine that is several times the price of the longest vignette, and unpaid charges are settled before you are allowed to leave the country.

The vignette is linked to one license plate and cannot be transferred to another vehicle, and the registration number cannot be changed once the vignette has been issued.

The start of validity cannot be postponed after purchase either. Pick the correct start date at checkout, or add the Flex option and we handle changes and cancellations for you up to 24 hours before the vignette becomes valid.

Vignette-free use of the Moldovan road network applies to:

• Vehicles registered in Moldova, which pay an annual road tax instead
• Emergency, police, fire and military vehicles
• Vehicles over 3.5 t, which pay the weight-based road charge instead
• Diplomatic vehicles and humanitarian transports
